The Glacier Literide from Petzl provides excellent security and holding power in a lightweight, packfriendly package. Because of its small stature and lightweight aluminum shaft, this axe is ideal for ski and snowboardmountaineering, especially given that it can easily be strapped to a pack for the descent. The toothed steel pick and steel adze provide a stable anchor and efficiently cut steps into the snow, respectively. The stainless steel bottom spike plunges easily into even the hardest snow, and the top and bottom both feature carabinerclip holes for easy anchoring.
